Peer Game Testing Session of 10/26/2011

"Destiny" by Jenene is a side scroller made with GameMaker. Its premise is the idea approaching an end destination but never reaching it regardless of much time the player advances their character towards it. Movement, jumping and some artistic elements are present, but it is in need of gameplay and the establishment of the premise. "Wishy Washy Warrior" is a game by John made with GameMaker. Its premise is about a character who fights germs and messes with common cleaning products and techniques. Artistic elements are still being established and movement actions are glitchy (unable to run off ledges, some walls are sticky, causing character to be stuck, and others). "iConcierge" is a game by Michael made with Inform7. Premise is about a waking up to a full day's shift at the Apple Store, based on Michael's personal experience. So far, the game needs development on the main part: the sales floor, but the use of expressive character and writing really comes out.

My game is being created with inform 7. After people have played my game, I noticed I should not sweat on all the small details until the general mechanics and story have been established. Here I am, worrying if players will pick up objects that are too heavy to carry among other things, while the player can just blaze right to the finish in less than 3 minutes if a loophole is discovered. Noted: General to Specific; Macro then Micro.
